This weekend I was in Kent for the wedding of Antony Woodcock and Anne Flower. Celebrating such a happy occassion only made what I later learnt had happened to cause the delays on? our journey home seem all the more upsetting.
At around 3.15pm on? Sunday 30th September, a? family’s car experienced a blowout in a rear tyre. Their baby daughter was thrown from the car in the resulting crash, which thankfully involved no other cars.? Everyone else escaped the crash, but I’m sure this is of little consolation to the family right now. My thoughts go to them in this difficult time.
Myself and thousands of other motorists were trapped on the M4, which was closed between J14 and J15 until late that evening while the emergency services dealt with the accident.? Obviously? our inconvenience or discomfort? are? totally insignificant compared to the family’s loss, but I would like to share some? photos of how people were gathering and? chatting to complete strangers? after being thrown together in? the? makeshift carpark that the M4 quickly became.?
Bad things happen, but good things can come of it.
Rest in peace little one.
