As I write this, half of the Four Borders team is already in Heathrow airport, all checked in and ready to go; while Graham, Sean, Tom and I make our final preparations before flying out at 10.30pm this evening! We fly firstly to Moscow, then have to transfer airports before boarding a second plane to Novosibirsk. In Novosibirsk we will meet our trucks, drivers and translator before heading into the Altai mountains and going? almost immediately to the Mongolian border. We’ll spend roughly 2 weeks in Mongolia exploring the rivers before heading back into Russia for a few weeks there.

Currently Sean and Paul will fly back mid-August and the rest of us will stay out there until September 6th. We’re very excited, if a little tired already? (we were up very late packing kit etc last night!).

I am unlikely to update this site again until I get back – as when we get the opportunity we will be updating the www.fourbordersexpedition.com blog, so please keep checking that website for stories and photos from our adventure.

Have a great summer!
