Hurray, it’s only one day until I jet off for two weeks on the equator; big water kayaking on the White Nile in Uganda. Picked up my dollars, sorted my travel insurance and took my first malaria tablet today. All set to go, with battle scars? already…
I face planted off my bike yesterday lunchtime after doing a jump. It always ends in pain when you start trying to jump a height stick!
Luckily, I didn’t break any more teeth! Just a split eyebrow, scuffed chin and bruised ego. Speaking of teeth, I had? my crown put on today; my Dad always did say I was his little princess!
Last weekend, as part of the British Universities Kayak Expedition Team’s preparation for our trip to Siberia and Mongolia this summer, we partook in a Swiftwater Rescue Technician course – covering rescue techniques from simple channel crossing? to complex mechanical advantage systems. We’ll have a full report and more pictures? on our website soon.
That’s it for now, next time I post on here, it’ll be from Uganda! Stay tuned for big air, fun times and hopefully less photos of how I have mangled myself (again).?
Dong ibedi.
Better luck on the Nile than I your bike. Swift water tech corse is greeat stuff I did it a few years ago and will do it again. Regards to Uganda Greg
