Last month I applied to be part of the British Universities Kayaking Expedition 2007. This is a wicked idea where a group of students go to a new an exciting place to explore and paddle some rivers. Students are selected on paddling ability, previous experience and other useful skills such as article writing, photography and cooking prowess.

This week I was told I had made it through to the selection weekend, along with about 20 other students from across the UK. I am lucky enough to already know over half of them and am VERY excited at the prospect of this trip.

Each student has to go to the selection? weekend (23-26th Nov)? having already investigated a possible expedition destination in order to put it to the rest of the group. Over the weekend the team and destination? will be decided. Better get out my map book…I can’t wait!
